Notice the yellow administration bar, which you will see when you are logged in and if you have edition rights. 2003-10-17 Created Step 2 In order to create a new document, click on the 'New' tab in the administration bar. 2003-10-17 Created Step 3 This is the 'new' document tab. In order to create a new document you must specify four attributes: title, decription, keyword, and language. 2003-10-17 Created Step 4 'Title' is the title of the document. For the sake of the example we'll create a contact page, thus we'll enter 'Contact'. If we wanted to be more verbose we could have used 'Contact us' or 'How to contact us'. 2003-10-17 Created Step 5 In the description field, we'll enter a summary of what the page is about. 2003-10-17 Created Step 6 In the keywords field, we'll enter some extra keywords that people might type in the site's search engine in order to find the contact page. 2003-10-17 Created Step 7 Finally, since our page is written in English, we make sure that the language which is selected is 'English'. 2003-10-17 Created Step 8 There are other optional fields, such as rights and publisher. For the moment we'll ignore them. 2003-10-17 Created Step 9 We're done for the basic attributes of the document which we want to create. Let's click on the 'create document' button. 2003-10-17 Created Step 10 We are now faced with this strange page. Now that we have created our new document, we need to populate it with some content. This is what this page is all about. 2003-10-17 Created Step 11 MKDoc documents are made of basic blocks called components. There are several types of components, such as text, html, links and photos. This menu lets you select which type of component you wish to create. 2003-10-17 Created Step 12 We want to add some text in our empty page. In the select list, select 'text'. If you are familiar with the HTML language, you could select 'html' instead. 2003-10-17 Created Step 13 Then click on the 'add' button. 2003-10-17 Created Step 14 A text component then appears. Let's put some content in. 2003-10-17 Created Step 15 The text component uses simple rules. You make headings using = and - signs as shown above.
